Adrienne Miller, Violin

​Born in Southern California, Adrienne Miller began playing the violin and piano at a young age and became the concertmaster of her youth orchestra at the age of ten. She won her youth orchestra’s concerto competition at fifteen and at age sixteen was accepted into University as a Violin Performance major. Ms. Miller holds Degrees in Violin Performance and Chinese Language and Literature from the University of California, where she was a full scholarship recipient as an undergraduate, and a graduate teaching assistant in music performance, music theory, and media. While a student at the University of California she served as Concertmaster of the University Symphony and University Theater Orchestras. 
 
An enthusiastic orchestral and pit player, Ms. Miller played in a professional orchestra for the first time at the age of sixteen. Subsequently, she has been a frequent guest musician and member of various orchestras throughout Southern California. Ms. Miller is currently doing graduate work in music, teaching music and language, and performing in varied and disparate musical settings.
 
As a high school and college student, she performed in masterclasses given by Peter Marsh, Sidney Harth, Charles Castleman, Elizabeth Baker, and Bing Wang among others. Ms. Miller supplemented her studies in orchestra, chamber music, Jazz and The Blues, as a full fellowship recipient in such summer music festivals as Lake Chautauqua and the Henry Mancini Institute, as well as further studies at the Music Academy of the West and Hilltop Orchestral Training Program led by members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. As a student, Ms. Miller won first place in the Bellflower Symphony Concerto Competition young adult division and subsequently performed with the orchestra as soloist. In addition, she was selected to perform for the unveiling of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. memorial statue in Washington D.C.. 
 
Ms. Miller has performed in venues including the historic Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, Royce and Schoenberg Concert Halls in Westwood, CA, Granada Theater, Abravanel Hall at the Music Academy of the West, and at the Rishi Valley School in India.
